The Northview Wildcats will square off against the Clay Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Northview 3.4, Clay 3.6) so any runs scored will be well earned.
It was a proper cat-fight when Northview took on Whitmer on Tuesday. The Wildcats walked away with an 8-3 win over the Panthers.
Graham Newnham looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, he posted two strikeouts, the most he's had since back in May of 2025.

On the hitting side, Northview got a big performance out of Quinton Wilson, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those two doubles gave Wilson a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Karson Schlosser, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two RBI and one run.
Meanwhile, Clay entered their tilt with Ross on Tuesday with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Little Giants a 5-0 shutout.
Darin Fussell made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out ten over seven innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Landon Echelberry, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one RBI. Brannan Vargas was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run.
Northview's victory bumped their record up to 7-3. As for Clay, their win bumped their record up to 8-4.
Clay's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Northview hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .345. It's a different story for Clay, though, as they've only averaged .249. Will they be able to contain Northview's hitters?
