Soccer Recap: Sumter Starts Season with Victory Against Lakewood

Sumter took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Friday. They never let the Lakewood Gators get on the board and left with a 9-0 win. The Gamecocks haven't had any issues with the Gators recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Sumter's offense was hitting Lakewood from everywhere, as five different players booted in a goal. Alexander Krivejko led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for four goals all by himself.

Sumter will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on White Knoll at 7:30 p.m. on March 4th. As for Lakewood, they will be playing in front of their home fans against East Clarendon at 9:00 a.m. on March 1st.
