Softball Game Preview: Palmer Trinity Falcons vs. Braddock Bulldogs

The Palmer Trinity Falcons will venture away from home to take on the Braddock Bulldogs at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Palmer Trinity is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.2 runs per game this season.

Palmer Trinity is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering St. Brendan just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell 8-5 to the Sabres.

Kinsey Cerda made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-3. She has been hot for a while, having posted at least one stolen base the last 12 times she's played. Hailey Rodriguez was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2.

Meanwhile, Braddock waltzed into their game on Wednesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They walked away with an 8-4 victory over the Gladiators.

Emely Ramirez made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over seven innings while giving up four earned runs off nine hits. Ramirez was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-4.

In other batting news, Vanessa Builes was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Anais Gonzalez, who scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in two of her four plate appearances.

Braddock's win was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-4. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Palmer Trinity, their loss dropped their record down to 9-4.

Everything went Palmer Trinity's way against Braddock when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as Palmer Trinity made off with a 9-3 win. Do the Falcons have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bulldogs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
