The defense contributed on the scoring end for
Crespi (Encino, Calif.) on Saturday, totaling 12 points as the Celts defeated Palisades (Pacific Palisades, Calif.) 70-8.
The Celts were up 56-0 at the half after taking the lead on a touchdown run by
JB Blackwell in the first quarter.
Crespi expanded its lead to 70 points entering the fourth quarter. CHS scored two times in the third, including once on a
Conor McMahan touchdown run.
With the win the Encino school extended its winning streak to five games. The Celts defeated the Golden Eagles 49-7 last week.
The Dolphins' Chis Wilkins was the standout player for his team. The senior halfback ran for one touchdown.
Okalani Langi was the top performer for Crespi. The sophomore running back ran for two touchdowns.
Palisades' lone touchdown came on a 23-yard run by Wilkins in the fourth quarter.
When the two teams played each other last season, CHS came away with a 40-0 victory.
In a non-conference game next week Crespi (5-0) takes on Westlake, and Palisades (1-2) will go up against Granada Hills also in a non-conference game.
