Jackson Prep extended the longest winning streak in MAIS AAA I District 2 this week by beating Jackson Academy, 27-24. The win marks eighth in a row for the the Patriots.
Jackson Prep and the Raiders played the most hotly contested game in the league this week, with Jackson Prep eventually emerging with a 27-24 victory. Ryan Buchanan threw for 109 yards and two touchdowns and ran for six yards in the win.
Ricky Black's team's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. On the ground Hamel McGraw chipped in 128 yards. McGraw helped Jackson Prep's passing attack out by catching one ball for 20 yards.
Parker Caracci was the best wideout in the league this week as the Patriots defeated Jackson Academy. Caracci racked up four receptions for 67 yards.
Jackson Prep's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Patriots feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Buchanan has thrown for 857 yards and 11 touchdowns this season, while Zach Williams has seven catches for 228 yards. McGraw leads the league in rushing with 888 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Presbyterian Christian takes on Parklane Academy. At the moment, the Bobcats are in third, while the Pioneers are in second.
Presbyterian Christian took down Hillcrest Christian 49-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
