The Carson City-Crystal Eagles had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They came out on top against Ashley by a score of 44-33. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Carson City-Crystal also won the last time the pair played back in January.
Cole Smith continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 14 points along with four steals. He has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Gavin Reeder, who scored six points.
Carson City-Crystal's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-11. As for Ashley, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-14.
Carson City-Crystal will be playing in front of their home fans against Sacred Heart Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Sacred Heart Academy is coming into the matchup with eight straight victories on the road, so Carson City-Crystal is out to stop a squad with plenty of momentum. As for Ashley, they will square off against St. Charles at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. St. Charles is on a four-game streak of home losses, Ashley a seven-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change.
