Basketball Recap: Big Sandy Find Success

Big Sandy won the last time they faced Union Grove, and Malijah Francis did his part to make sure it happened again. The Big Sandy Wildcats took down the Union Grove Lions 66-51 on Friday thanks in part to Francis, who posted 28 points along with five boards and four steals. The matchup was his third in a row with at least ten points.

Union Grove's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jace Roberts, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 13 rebounds. Roberts is on a roll when it comes to boards, as he's now pulled down nine or more in the last six games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Hudson Wightman, who had 15 points and five steals.

Big Sandy's record is now 6-12. As for Union Grove, their loss dropped their record down to 13-11.

Big Sandy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 75-51 defeat against Hawkins on the 7th. As for Union Grove, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 66-23 victory against Linden-Kildare on the 7th.
