Monroe Central and Hagerstown are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2017, but likely not for long. The Golden Bears will be playing in front of their home fans against the Tigers at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Monroe Central is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.9 runs per game this season.
Monroe Central barely beat Daleville the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Golden Bears' pitcher stepped up to hand the Broncos a 15-0 shutout on Thursday. The result was nothing new for the Golden Bears, who have now won four matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.
Caleb Luedike was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. Luedike was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and two doubles. He has become a key player for Monroe Central: the team is undefeated when he posts at least three RBI, but 2-3 otherwise.
