Monroe Central and Hagerstown are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2017, but likely not for long. In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Logan Walker, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Isaac Middleton was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
Monroe Central kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Hagerstown came tearing into Wednesday's game with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Raiders by a score of 7-2.
Hagerstown pushed their record up to 4-1 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.3 runs over those games. As for Monroe Central, their victory bumped their record up to 5-3.
