The Franklin Wildcats will head out to take on the Sheldon Huskies at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Franklin is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.7 runs per game this season.
On Wednesday, Franklin needed a bit of extra time to put away Monterey Trail. They skirted past the Mustangs 8-7.

Leilani Garcia tossed a big game, striking out ten batters over five innings while giving up six earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. Those ten strikeouts gave her a new career-high.
On the hitting side, Franklin let Addison Meddings and Micayla Arlotto run wild. Meddings went 2-for-5 with four RBI, two doubles, and one run, while Arlotto went 1-for-5 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. Those two doubles gave Meddings a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Julissa Sandoval, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one RBI.
Meanwhile, Sheldon came tearing into Friday's match with three straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the Mustangs 13-3. The result was nothing new for the Huskies, who have now won seven games by six runs or more so far this season.
Micah Kennedy was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-5 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Sheldon got a massive performance out of Sinitalela Heleta, who went 3-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Another player making a difference was Miyani Marshall, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
Sheldon was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .459. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Monterey Trail only posted a batting average of .148.
Franklin's record is now 11-9-1. As for Sheldon, their record now sits at 15-5-1.
Franklin couldn't quite get it done against Sheldon when the teams last played back in March as they fell 4-1. Can the Wildcats avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
