Even though the Quince Orchard Cougars have not done well against the Churchill Bulldogs recently (they were 1-6 in their previous seven matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Quince Orchard came out on top against Churchill by a score of 37-29. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Quince Orchard.
Quince Orchard was led to victory by Sydney Richardson and Evelyn Steele. Richardson scored eight points along with six steals, while Steele dropped a double-double on 13 points and 18 rebounds. Those 13 points set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Kasey Rappaport, who scored six points along with eight rebounds.
Quince Orchard now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Churchill, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 2-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Quince Orchard will challenge Gaithersburg at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Churchill will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Wootton at 7:15 p.m. on December 19th.
