5A District 2 recap October 1, 2013
Guthrie added to the longest winning streak in 5A District 2 this week by beating Guymon, 63-0. The victory was the fourth in a row for the Bluejays.
Steven Thompson provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Carl Albert topped Deer Creek.
Thompson was a force in the backfield as the Titans defeated the Antlers.
Thompson was the most successful running back in the league this week. He ran for 340 yards on 39 carries as Carl Albert bested Western Heights.
Northwest Classen's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Knights feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Eric McGee has thrown for 279 yards and 3 touchdowns this season, while Ashley has 14 catches for 163 yards.
The Titans are currently in second, while Bishop McGuinness is in fifth.
The Tigers made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 10,258 from 10,937. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 63-0 victory over Guymon last week.
