After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Mountain View, Capital was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Eagle Mustangs a 14-0 shutout. The Golden Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine games by six runs or more this season.
Kiya Caltabiano made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over five innings pitched. Caltabiano was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on McKenna Chavez, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs, one triple, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Lizzy Turpen, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run.
