The Greencastle Tiger Cubs won the last time they faced the South Putnam Eagles, and things went their way on Thursday too. Greencastle enjoyed a cozy 69-54 win over South Putnam. The win made it back-to-back wins for Greencastle.
Greencastle found their leader in underclassman Nathan Sutherlin, who scored 25 points along with four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Sutherlin has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Anthony Adams, who scored 16 points.
South Putnam lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Cam Bozell, who went 6 for 10 from beyond the arc en route to 19 points and 0 assists. Drew Hill was another key contributor, scoring 19 points.
Greencastle has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-8 record this season. As for South Putnam, their loss dropped their record down to 6-11.
Greencastle and North Putnam will face off at 7:30 p.m. on February 9th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. North Putnam will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something Greencastle surely won't give up without a fight. As for South Putnam, they and Cloverdale will face off at 6:00 p.m. on February 9th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. South Putnam is facing Cloverdale at the right time seeing as Cloverdale is stuck on a 11-game losing streak.
