The Everglades Prep Academy Panther lost against the Somerset Academy (Silver Palms) Stallions on January 8th, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Everglades Prep Academy was dealt a 89-32 loss at the hands of Somerset Academy (Silver Palms). While losing is never fun, Everglades Prep Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 713th, while Somerset Academy (Silver Palms) is ranked 243rd).
Somerset Academy (Silver Palms) got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Tony Guerrero out in front who dropped a double-double on 23 points and ten assists. Guerrero hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Rodriguez, who scored 25 points.
Everglades Prep Academy dropped their record down to 2-7 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Somerset Academy (Silver Palms), they have been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-3 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Everglades Prep Academy will take on South Miami at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Somerset Academy (Silver Palms), they will play host again and welcome Marathon, where tip off is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Marathon is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.
