Fairborn is 8-2 against West Carrollton since February of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Wednesday. The Fairborn Skyhawks will head out on the road to challenge the West Carrollton Pirates at 7:15 p.m. Fairborn is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
Last Saturday, Fairborn came up short against Stebbins and fell 39-27. While losing is never fun, Fairborn can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 739th, while Stebbins is ranked 292nd).
Meanwhile, West Carrollton unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Saturday. They took a 36-30 hit to the loss column at the hands of Butler.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Selena Frost, who scored seven points.
Fairborn's defeat was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-13. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 23.4 points per game. As for West Carrollton, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-5.
Fairborn took a serious blow against West Carrollton when the teams last played back in December of 2021, falling 62-22. Can Fairborn avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
