The Bayard Rustin Golden Knights will venture away from home to challenge the Bishop Shanahan Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Bayard Rustin will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each match than the last.
Bayard Rustin took a loss when they played away from home last Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. They blew past Sun Valley 10-0. The game marked the Golden Knights' most dominant win of the season.
AJ Calio was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Calio was even better at the plate, firing off two home runs while going 2-for-2.

In other pitching news, Alex Kennedy looked comfortable as he tossed 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.
Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Mace Britton, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. Joey DiAntonio also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
Bayard Rustin was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Bishop Shanahan was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-5 heartbreaker at the hands of Avon Grove. That's two games in a row now that the Eagles have lost by just one run.
Brett Barber made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs. Michael Cleary was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.
Bishop Shanahan's defeat dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Bayard Rustin, the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 6-5 record.
Bayard Rustin skirted past Bishop Shanahan 8-7 in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Golden Knights since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
