It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the LaVergne Wolverines ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Cane Ridge and snuck past 56-53. The win made it back-to-back wins for LaVergne.
Cane Ridge's loss came despite strong showings from Avyion Mccleton and Adam Clark. Mccleton scored 22 points, while Clark scored 15 points. Da'ron Hall was another key contributor, scoring 6 points.
LaVergne's win bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Cane Ridge, their loss dropped their record down to 3-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. LaVergne will square off against East Nashville Magnet at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. East Nashville Magnet has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Cane Ridge, they will head out on the road to face off against Independence at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Tennessee (Independence is ranked 72nd, while Cane Ridge is ranked 59th).
