The Ursuline Fighting Irish put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their undefeated season alive. They strolled past Cardinal Mooney with points to spare, taking the game 35-16. Given Ursuline's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio football rankings (they are ranked 11th, while Cardinal Mooney is ranked 165th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Jack Ericson was the offensive standout of the matchup as he rushed for 122 yards on only ten carries, and also threw for 152 yards and a touchdown. DC Ferrell also helped out with an impressive 98 receiving yards.
Ursuline's win was their fifth straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 10-0. As for Cardinal Mooney, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-5 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ursuline will take on New Philadelphia at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. That game will pit two of the most dominant backs against one another: Etnie Richardson and Christian Lynch. As for Cardinal Mooney, they will play host again and welcome Buchtel, where Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
