North Stokes is a perfect 9-0 against Alleghany since May of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The North Stokes Vikings will square off against the Alleghany Trojans at 5:00 p.m. Alleghany took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on North Stokes, who comes in off a win.
North Stokes will roll into the matchup after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any runs on Friday, then bounced right back against Mount Airy on Monday. North Stokes' pitchers stepped up to hand Mount Airy a 10-0 shutout. The Vikings not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since May 8, 2024.

Kaydence Woods and Rori Long did most of the damage at the plate: Woods scored three runs while going 4-for-4, while Long went 3-for-4 with four RBI and one run. Those four hits gave Woods a new career-high. Emiley Rogers also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.
North Stokes always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .516. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Alleghany was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 9-1 to East Surry. The contest marked the Trojans' lowest-scoring game so far this season.
Alleghany saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gracie Keith, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.
North Stokes moved to 2-3-1 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Alleghany, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-5.
North Stokes' speedy runners might be the difference in Tuesday's match. North Stokes has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.5 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Alleghany, though, as they've been averaging only 1.2 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will North Stokes continue to outrun the ball?
North Stokes took their win against Alleghany in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 14-5. Does North Stokes have another victory up their sleeve, or will Alleghany turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
