Morse hasn't had much luck against Mt. Ararat recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Shipbuilders will host the Eagles at 4:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Morse took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. They put the hurt on Medomak Valley with a sharp 11-4 victory. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Shipbuilders considering their one-run performance the game before.
Morse got a great performance from Christian Hallowell as he struck out six batters over six innings while giving up four earned runs off three hits.

At the plate, Cameron Griffee was incredible, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. He has become a key player for Morse: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 2-4 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Caden Wells, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Morse was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .481. The last time their batting average was this high was back in June of 2025.
Meanwhile, Mt. Ararat entered their tilt with Lincoln Academy on Monday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They blew past Lincoln Academy 16-1. Mt. Ararat's hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Warren Graybill looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Brady Hiltz, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. That stolen base marked the first that he has snagged this season. Jake Morrell was another key player, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with three runs and one RBI.
Mt. Ararat's win bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Morse, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
Tuesday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Morse has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .467. However, it's not like Mt. Ararat struggles in that department as they've averaged .449. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Morse suffered a grim 7-0 defeat to Mt. Ararat when the teams last played back in May of 2025. Can the Shipbuilders avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
