Spencer is 0-4 against Northside since November of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Spencer Greenwave will head out on the road to face off against the Northside Patriots at 6:00 p.m. Spencer will be strutting in after a victory while Northside will be coming in after a defeat.
Last Saturday, Spencer was able to grind out a solid victory over McDonough, taking the game 53-43. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Spencer.
Among those leading the charge was Malaja Dyous, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 10 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Naomi Berk, who scored 12 points along with 7 steals.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Northside, who are still winless after their fourth game. They were outmatched by Brookwood on the road and fell 56-14.
Spencer's win bumped their season record to 2-0 while McDonough's loss dropped theirs to 1-4.
Spencer took a serious blow against Northside when the teams last played back in December of 2022, falling 69-37. Can Spencer avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
