Basketball Recap: Neuse Charter's Win Ends Four-Game Losing Streak on the Road

After only one point in their last match, Neuse Charter made sure to put some points up on the board against Ascend Leadership on Wednesday. The Neuse Charter Cougars walked away with a 62-49 victory over the Ascend Leadership Aviators. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Cougars.

Klayton Tew continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 23 points and 17 rebounds. Those 23 points gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Demonte Jackson, who posted 14 points and six steals.

Neuse Charter's win ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 8-6. As for Ascend Leadership, they dropped their record down to 3-6 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home.

Neuse Charter will venture away from home to square off against North Duplin at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in North Duplin's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four contests. As for Ascend Leadership, they will be playing in front of their home fans against River Mill at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
