The Apex Friendship Patriots will head out on the road to square off against the Apex Cougars at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Apex Friendship will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.
Apex Friendship took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They blew past Green Hope 15-3. The contest marked the Patriots' most dominant win of the season so far.
Riley Weaver made a splash while hitting and pitching. She pitched five innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits. That's the fewest earned runs she has allowed since back in May of 2024. She was even better at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one double. That's the most runs she has posted since back in May of 2024.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Cheyenne Christman, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. She is on a roll when it comes to hits, as she's now got three or more in each of the last three games she's played. Hannah Parker was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.
Apex Friendship kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in four consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Apex fell victim to Willow Spring and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They came up short against the Storm, falling 10-0. The Cougars haven't had much luck with the Storm recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.
Apex saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Leah Kendall, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases.
Apex Friendship has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season. Apex's defeat dropped their record down to 4-3.
Thursday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Apex Friendship has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .444. However, it's not like Apex struggles in that department as they've averaged .431. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Apex Friendship came out on top in a nail-biter against Apex in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, sneaking past 6-5. Does Apex Friendship have another victory up their sleeve, or will Apex turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
