The state rankings had actually given Manchester West a slight edge heading into the game, making this hurt that much more.
Meanwhile, Pelham might have drawn first blood against St. Thomas Aquinas, but it was St. Thomas Aquinas who got the last laugh. Pelham suffered a grim 13-43 defeat to St. Thomas Aquinas.
