The Jackson Timberwolves pushed their score all the way to 65 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. The game between Jackson and Renton wasn't particularly close, with Jackson falling 80-65. Despite running the score up even higher than they did last Friday (60), Jackson still had to take the loss.
Loss or not, Jackson got some senior leadership from Ryan Mcferran who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 12 rebounds and Colby Cooke who scored 16 points. Mcferran scored a full 32.3% of Jackson's points, the fifth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Seamus Williams, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds.
Jackson's defeat dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Renton, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Jackson will square off against Marysville-Pilchuck at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. The timing isn't great for Marysville-Pilchuck: they have been struggling with four straight losses at home, while Jackson has snatched up five consecutive wins on the road dating back to last season. As for Renton, they will challenge Eastside Catholic at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday. Eastside Catholic presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Renton in Washington (Eastside Catholic is ranked first, while Renton is ranked 82nd).
