Trinity Christian is 10-0 against Randolph-Macon Academy since February of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Trinity Christian Gryphons will be playing in front of their home fans against the Randolph-Macon Academy Yellow Jackets at 7:15 p.m.
Trinity Christian suffered their biggest loss since December 5, 2023 on Tuesday. They suffered a rough 64-42 defeat at the hands of St. Michael the Archangel. Trinity Christian has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Meanwhile, Randolph-Macon Academy put the finishing touches on their fifth blowout victory of the season on Thursday. They blew past Fredericksburg Academy 68-33 on the road. Given Randolph-Macon Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 121st, while Fredericksburg Academy is ranked 338th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Nolan Kirabo and Chidera George were among the main playmakers for Randolph-Macon Academy as the former scored 19 points along with six rebounds and five steals and the latter almost dropped a triple-double on 20 points, 12 rebounds, and nine blocks. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Kirabo has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Grant Leasure, who scored 12 points along with three steals.
Trinity Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Randolph-Macon Academy, they pushed their record up to 10-1 with that victory, which was their sixth straight on the road.
Trinity Christian barely slipped by Randolph-Macon Academy when the teams last played back in February of 2023, winning 52-51. Will Trinity Christian repeat their success, or does Randolph-Macon Academy have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
