Skyline is 9-1 against Central Woodstock since March of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. It'll be a Battle of the Birds when Skyline Hawks face off against Central Woodstock Falcons at 6:00 p.m. Skyline is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.5 runs per game this season.
Skyline lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Warren County, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Tuesday's game. Skyline blew past Warren County 11-2 on Tuesday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Hawks considering their two-run performance the matchup before.

Izaiah Matthews was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits (and only one walk). Matthews was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three RBI. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Brody Boyd, who scored a run while going 2-for-2. Another player making a difference was Joey Pendleton, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.
Skyline always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .531. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Warren County only posted an OBP of .222.
Meanwhile, it was close, but on Saturday Central Woodstock sidestepped Stuarts Draft for a 4-2 victory. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Falcons have posted against the Cougars since March 19, 2022.
Isaac Barb looked comfortable as he tossed 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he gave up only zero earned runs, the fewest he's had since back in March of 2024.
On the hitting side, Blake Helsley was excellent, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-1. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaxson Kelican, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
Central Woodstock's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Skyline, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.
Skyline skirted past Central Woodstock 11-9 when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Will Skyline repeat their success, or does Central Woodstock has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
