Baseball Recap: Frostproof Drops Highest Score of Season Against Four Corners

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Frostproof). Everything went their way against the Four Corners Coyotes on Thursday as the Frostproof Bulldogs made off with an 11-2 victory. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Bulldogs with their most commanding win of the season.

Bradley Roberts made a splash no matter where he played. He tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Frostproof is 3-1 when he allows at most three earned runs, but 3-7 otherwise. Roberts was even better at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing Two bases. while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in runs.

In other pitching news, Ashton Feagle tossed a big game, tossing five innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits.

Back at the plate, Landon Fuller was a standout: he scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Colton Paulk, who scored a run while going 3-for-4.

Frostproof always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The win (which was Frostproof's fourth in a row) raised their record to 6-8. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 3.25 runs across that stretch. As for Four Corners, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-5-1.

Coming up, Frostproof is taking a road trip to square off against Lake Gibson at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Lake Gibson has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.67 runs per game on average), something Frostproof will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Four Corners, they will take on Haines City in a tournament on Monday. Four Corners is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.1 runs per game this season.
