Meanwhile, Summerland [Clearwater/Ewing/Orchard] beat Laurel-Concord-Coleridge 62-53 on Tuesday. Given the Bobcats' advantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 36th, while the Bears are ranked 198th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Lutheran-Northeast better keep an eye on Alec Schindler. He was instrumental in Summerland [Clearwater/Ewing/Orchard]'s win, going 10 for 12 on his way to 21 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals. What's more, Schindler also posted a 83% shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's posted since back in December of 2024. Preston Hoke was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with nine points and ten assists.
Summerland [Clearwater/Ewing/Orchard]'s victory was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 19-2. As for Lutheran-Northeast, their win bumped their record up to 12-8.
