On Friday, The Crowell Wildcats faced the Benjamin Mustangs in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Crowell was beaten by Benjamin 56-8. It was the first time this season that Crowell let down their fans at home.
Grayson Rigdon got back to being his usual excellent self, as he rushed for 160 yards and four touchdowns on only eight carries, and also picked up 76 receiving yards. Rigdon is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Keegan Hayes, who threw for 84 yards and three touchdowns while completing 100% of his passes.
Crowell's loss dropped their record down to 8-2. As for Benjamin, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 10-0.
Crowell will head out on the road to face off against Jayton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Jayton knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past nine matches -- so hopefully Crowell likes a good challenge. As for Benjamin, they will square off against Motley County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Motley County is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
