The Altha Wildcats will head out to challenge the Mosley Dolphins at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Mosley will be up against a hot Altha squad: the team just extended their winning streak to four. The Wildcats' pitcher stepped up to hand Sneads a 20-0 shutout on Friday. That 20 run margin sets a new team best for the Wildcats this season.
Tarrin McCrone was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out eight over four innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, firing off two home runs, eight RBI, and three runs while going 3-for-5.

In other batting news, Altha let Hope Tanner and Reagan Roberts run wild. Tanner scored three runs while going 4-for-5, while Roberts scored five runs while going 2-for-4. Those four hits gave Tanner a new career-high. Kaylean Clowes was another key player, scoring four runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Mosley, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Wednesday. Everything went their way against Rutherford on Wednesday as they made off with a 16-1 win. The high-scoring effort was just what the Dolphins needed considering they were shut out in their previous game.
Mosley got a big performance out of Makenzy Grewe, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Maddy Watson, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2.
Mosley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .607. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Altha pushed their record up to 8-5 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.3 runs over those games. As for Mosley, their victory ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 5-6.
Altha might still be hurting after the 14-4 loss they got from Mosley in their previous matchup back in March of 2022. Can the Wildcats avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
