Basketball Game Preview: Lake Creek Lions vs. Brenham Cubs

Lake Creek is 7-1 against Brenham since November of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Lake Creek Lions will welcome the Brenham Cubs at 6:30 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

It was a proper cat-fight when Lake Creek took on College Station on Tuesday. Lake Creek fell 65-57 to College Station.

Lake Creek might have lost, but man, Caden Puckett was a machine: he went 6 of 10 en route to 18 points along with five assists and four steals. Those four steals gave Puckett a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jay Mcshan, who posted ten points and four steals.

Meanwhile, Brenham hadn't done well against Rudder recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Brenham simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Rudder 65-33. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Cubs.

Brenham has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 18-7 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.7 points per game. As for Lake Creek, their loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 12-13.
