The Moreno Valley Vikings lost against the Temescal Canyon Titans back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Moreno Valley suffered a tough 65-41 loss at the hands of Temescal Canyon. While losing is never fun, Moreno Valley can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 719th, while Temescal Canyon is ranked 175th).
Despite the defeat, Moreno Valley saw an underclassman step up: Jordan Hayes scored six points. Aiden Finley was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
This is the second loss in a row for Moreno Valley and nudges their season record down to 8-8. As for Temescal Canyon, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Moreno Valley won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Cathedral at 1:00 p.m. on January 6th. As for Temescal Canyon, they will head out on the road to face off against Orange Vista at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Orange Vista will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive.
