The Lockport Lions had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 27 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They walked away with a 16-8 victory over Grand Island. For Lockport, this counts as revenge for the 43-12 defeat Grand Island walked away with the last time they faced one another back in October of 2021.
Lockport's defense made their presence known, laying out the QB three times. Leading the way was Liam Whalen and his two sacks.
Lockport now has a winning record of 4-3. Grand Island has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-3 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lockport will take on Williamsville North at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Williamsville North is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road. As for Grand Island, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Starpoint at 7:00 p.m.
