The Wright City Lumberjax will head out on the road to challenge the Valliant Bulldogs at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Wright City will be looking to extend their current eight-game winning streak.
Last Tuesday, Wright City didn't have too much trouble with the Rams on the road as they won 52-37. Given Wright City's advantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 34th, while the Rams are ranked 207th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Wright City got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Ali Gibson out in front who scored 17 points along with four steals. Gibson is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Braileigh Threadgill, who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, Valliant came up short against the Buffaloes last Friday and fell 59-49. Valliant has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Wright City's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 22-2. As for Valliant, they now have a losing record at 9-10.
Everything came up roses for Wright City against the Bulldogs in their previous meeting last Thursday as the team secured a 69-38 victory. With Wright City ahead 35-11 at the half, the match was all but over already.
