Northern Valley is 10-0 against Logan/Palco since December of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Northern Valley Huskies are taking a road trip to face off against Logan/Palco at 7:30 p.m. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Northern Valley has struggled recently with seven losses in a row, while Logan/Palco will arrive with ten straight wins.
Last Friday, Northern Valley came up short against Wheatland-Grinnell and fell 48-37. While the Huskies didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Thunderhawks 18-12 in the first quarter.
Despite the defeat, Northern Valley had strong showings from Griffin McKinney, who posted seven points and 13 rebounds, and Tait Thalheim, who earned 15 points. That was a full 40.5% of Northern Valley's points, marking the third time in a row he's put up more than a third of the team's points.
Meanwhile, Logan/Palco didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Weskan on Friday, but they still walked away with a 62-56 victory.
Logan/Palco's win came from a few key players Northern Valley will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Rhett Kats, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and ten boards. The game was his 12th in a row with at least ten points. Caleb Sparks was another key player, going 8 for 11 en route to 18 points.
Logan/Palco was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in three consecutive contests.
Logan/Palco pushed their record up to 10-0 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.6 points per game. As for Northern Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 3-9.
Northern Valley was able to grind out a solid victory over Logan/Palco in their previous matchup back in March of 2024, winning 60-50. Will Northern Valley repeat their success, or does Logan/Palco have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
