Yorktown has been on the road for four straight, but on Friday they'll finally head home. They will take on the New Palestine Dragons at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Yorktown has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
Even though Winchester Community scored an imposing 58 points on Tuesday, Yorktown still came out on top. Yorktown strolled past Winchester Community with points to spare, taking the game 76-58. Given Yorktown's advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 78th, while Winchester Community is ranked 288th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Yorktown's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mason Moulton, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Moulton has scored all season. Connor Rowray was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
New Palestine has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They took a 57-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of Lawrence North on Wednesday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points New Palestine has scored all season.
Yorktown is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten contests, which provided a massive bump to their 9-6 record this season. As for New Palestine, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-4.
