Merrimack Valley - Division 1 recap October 29, 2013
Lowell was able to crack the Top 25 in the state rankings this week after beating Andover. The Red Raiders came in at 22 in the state poll after placing at number 32 last week.
Central Catholic extended the longest winning streak in Merrimack Valley - Division 1 this week by beating Chelmsford, 46-19. The victory was the fourth in a row for the team.
Brian Dolan threw for 111 yards and 3 touchdowns. He went 14-19 with 0 interceptions.
Oliver Eberth was the most successful running back in the league this week. He ran for 90 yards on 10 carries as the Golden Warriors topped the Golden Warriors. Jack Sylvester also contributed to the rushing game with 47 yards on the ground.
John Florence's team's Dolan and Jack Galvin led the league in both passing and receiving yards. 6-1 quarterback Dolan has thrown for 990 yards this season, while Galvin has 38 catches for 533 yards. Andover's Sylvester leads the league in rushing yards with 565.
The Red Raiders made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 2,312 from 2,715. The improvement was the result of a 28-7 victory over E J Perry's team last week.
