Beachside has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against the Ponte Vedra Sharks at TBD on Friday. Hopefully Beachside focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine on Wednesday.
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Beachside had no problem doing just that on Wednesday. They enjoyed a cozy 54-39 victory over the Raiders.
Beachside got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Madilyn (Madi) Ray out in front who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. Ray hasn't dropped below two blocks for 14 straight games. Morgan Cremen was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with six assists and four steals.
Meanwhile, Ponte Vedra made easy work of Nease on Wednesday and carried off a 61-36 win. Ponte Vedra pushed the score to 53-24 by the end of the third, a deficit Nease cut but never quite recovered from.
Beachside is on a roll lately: they've won 16 of their last 17 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 20-4 record this season. As for Ponte Vedra, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 18-8.
Beachside came up short against Ponte Vedra when the teams last played back in December of 2023, falling 64-53. Can Beachside avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
