Yosemite extended their losing streak to ten on Monday, dropping them down to 2-17. They lost 23-1 to the Chowchilla Tribe. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Tribe this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 30-0 last Tuesday.
Yosemite saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cailey Orcutt, who went 1-for-2 with one triple.
As for Chowchilla, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-6-1 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.2 runs on average over those games.
On Chowchilla's side, Hadley Ray and Ava Diaz made a big impact no matter where they played. On the mound, Ray tossed two innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Meanwhile, Diaz tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. At bat, Ray went 4-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI, while Diaz went 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That home run marked the first that Diaz has launched this season.
In other batting news, Heaven Moore was incredible, firing off two home runs, six RBI, and four runs while going 4-for-5. She continues to improve, besting her previous run total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Avery Tomlinson, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Yosemite didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 13-6 loss against Parlier on the 12th. As for Chowchilla, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 14-0 win against Riverdale on the 12th.
