Delta has gone 8-2 against Milford recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. Delta will be playing at home against Milford at 3:30 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Thursday.
Delta made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Juab, but they still couldn't quite topple them. Delta blew past Juab 9-2 on Tuesday. The Rabbits not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since May 4, 2024.
Danica Rowlette spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on 12 hits and racked up eight Ks. Furthermore, she didn't allow a single walk, the first time she has blanked an opponent since back in April of 2024.
On the hitting side, Joslyn Christiansen was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaylie Taylor, who went 2-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Meanwhile, Milford entered their tilt with Monticello on Tuesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Buckaroo a 23-0 shutout. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matchups by seven runs or more this season.
Milford got a massive performance out of Hadley Griffiths, who fired off two home runs, three runs, and three RBI while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Those home runs were Griffiths' first of the season. Another player making a difference was Kloee Dotson, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs.
Milford was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .542. They are a perfect 8-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Milford pushed their record up to 9-4 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Delta, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-10.
Delta suffered a grim 19-7 defeat to Milford in their previous meeting back in March of 2024. Can Delta avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
