The Frontier Titans will square off against the Highland Scots at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Frontier 3.8, Highland 3.3) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Frontier is headed into the game having just suffered their closest defeat since March 22, 2025 on Friday. They fell just short of Garces Memorial by a score of 7-5. The Titans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Bailey Freeborn made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI. BellaRose Sanchez also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
Meanwhile, Highland waltzed into their matchup on Friday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Falcons a 12-0 shutout. The Scots might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 contests by six runs or more this season.
Lilliana Garcia was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out seven over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with six RBI, one triple, and one double.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Nevaeh Rodriquez, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Janaye Phillips, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Highland was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .483. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .320 or higher in seven consecutive games.
Frontier's loss dropped their record down to 19-5. As for Highland, their victory bumped their record up to 17-6-2.
Wednesday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Frontier hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .432. However, it's not like Highland struggles in that department as they've averaged .381. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
