Baseball Recap: Cincinnati Country Day Gets the Win

While Cincinnati Country Day's victory against Summit Country Day wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Nighthawks narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Silver Knights 2-0. The victory continues a trend for the Nighthawks in their matchups with the Silver Knights: they've now won four in a row.

Elijah Guttman made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over five innings pitched. Guttman was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs. He has become a key player for Cincinnati Country Day: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 7-8 otherwise.

Guttman wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Jaemeson French, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

The win got Cincinnati Country Day back to even at 9-9. As for Summit Country Day, with the defeat, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 13-9.

Looking ahead, Cincinnati Country Day will host Purcell Marian at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
