On Saturday, the Orlando Christian Prep Warriors faced the Mater Lakes Academy Bears in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Orlando Christian Prep took a 58-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of Mater Lakes Academy.
Despite the loss, Orlando Christian Prep still got an impressive performance from Ameer Ramadan, who scored 20 points. Ramadan is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Darius Washington, III, who scored 13 points along with two steals.
Mater Lakes Academy found their leader in underclassman Khanye Moss, who scored 25 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Moss has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Christian Reid, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds.
Orlando Christian Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 17-4. As for Mater Lakes Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-7 record this season.
Orlando Christian Prep will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Lake Minneola at 7:00 p.m. Lake Minneola is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road. As for Mater Lakes Academy, they will take on Miami at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Miami is coming into the match hot, having won their last ten games.
