Trinty DeVries tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit over five innings pitched. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Mount Dora Christian Academy got a massive performance out of Presley Miller, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. Miller is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Lily Bryant, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.
Mount Dora Christian Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .381. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 15 runs the game before, Trinity Prep was a bit more limited in their game on Friday. They fell just short of Cornerstone Charter Academy by a score of 3-1. The Saints haven't had much luck with the Ducks recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.
Trinity Prep saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mckenna Hawley, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double. That double marked the first that Hawley hit this season.
Mount Dora Christian Academy pushed their record up to 14-4 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Trinity Prep, their loss dropped their record down to 8-4.
Both Mount Dora Christian Academy and Trinity Prep just can't seem to miss. The Bulldogs have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 12.4 hits per game.
