The Dallas Christian Chargers will head out on the road to square off against the First Baptist Saints at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Dallas Christian waltzed into their match on Monday with two straight wins but they left with three. They blew past Shelton 66-29 on the road. Dallas Christian pushed the score to 53-22 by the end of the third, a deficit Shelton had no chance of recovering from.
Meanwhile, First Baptist took their match at home on Friday with ease, bagging a 74-11 win over Trinity School of Texas. The victory was familiar territory for First Baptist who now have 21 in a row.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead First Baptist to victory, but perhaps none more so than Emily Kate Jones, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 14 rebounds. Jones is crushing the point category: she's posted at least 16 every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Meredith Quinn, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 11 rebounds.
Dallas Christian has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-7 record this season. As for First Baptist, they pushed their record up to 26-3 with that victory, which was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season.
