Southeast has enjoyed the comforts of home their last six games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against the Kapaun Mt. Carmel Crusaders on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Friday, in a tight contest that could have gone either way, Southeast made off with a 59-58 win over Heights. The win was all the more spectacular given Southeast's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 95th, while Heights is ranked third).
Meanwhile, Kapaun Mt. Carmel entered their tilt with Bishop Carroll with seven consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with eight. Kapaun Mt. Carmel took down Bishop Carroll 73-59 on Friday.
Southeast pushed their record up to 9-7-1 with that win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.6 points per game. As for Kapaun Mt. Carmel, their victory bumped their record up to 16-1.
Southeast was taken down by Kapaun Mt. Carmel 80-48 when the teams last played back in December of 2023. Can Southeast avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
