The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Riverside Christian Academy in their matchups with Wayne Preparatory Academy: they've now lost three in a row.
Riverside Christian Academy's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Khalil Willis, who scored 18 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Willis has scored all season. Aden Washington was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Isaiah Thomas was his usual excellent self, scoring 25 points along with seven rebounds and four steals for Wayne Preparatory Academy. Thomas is crushing the point category: he's posted at least 17 every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Gavin Proctor, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds.
Riverside Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Wayne Preparatory Academy, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-17.
Riverside Christian Academy won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against American Leadership Academy-Johnston at 7:30 p.m. on February 2nd. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in North Carolina (Riverside Christian Academy is ranked 590th, while American Leadership Academy-Johnston is ranked 579th). As for Wayne Preparatory Academy, they will head out on the road to take on Mount Zion Christian Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
