There's no place like home for the Monache Marauders, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Friday. They came out on top against Mt. Whitney by a score of 58-46 on Tuesday. For Monache, this counts as revenge for the 60-58 loss Mt. Whitney walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January.
Ty Baxter continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 27 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Monache's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaiah Rogers, who scored nine points along with two steals.
The win got Monache back to even at 14-14. As for Mt. Whitney, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-19.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Monache will square off against Porterville at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Monache knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past six games -- so hopefully Porterville likes a good challenge. As for Mt. Whitney, they will head out on the road to square off against Redwood at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Redwood will roll in looking for their 12th straight victory, something Mt. Whitney surely won't give up without a fight.
