Veritas Christian is a perfect 5-0 against Kansas City East Christian Academy since April of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Eagles are taking a road trip to take on the Lions at 4:30 p.m. Veritas Christian will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each match than the last.
Veritas Christian is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Sunrise Christian Academy 16-9 on Tuesday. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Buffaloes recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Shaphan Ming made a splash while hitting and pitching. He struck out 11 batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off seven hits (and only one walk). He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.
In other batting news, James Lee was incredible, going 3-for-6 with one home run, six RBI, and three runs. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024. Cale Whitaker was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.
Veritas Christian hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in three consecutive games.
While Kansas City East Christian Academy didn't have the best season last year (they finished 5-12), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They came out on top in a nail-biter against St. Mary's Academy on Tuesday, sneaking past 5-4.
Aidon Carpenter spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on ten hits.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Nolan Peterson, who scored a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Jaycob Mieir, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
Veritas Christian's record now sits at 9-3. As for Kansas City East Christian Academy, their record is now 8-4.
Veritas Christian skirted past Kansas City East Christian Academy 7-6 in their previous matchup back in March. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
